We are pleased to screen “Yo Soy La Salsa”

More than a genre, salsa was a cultural movement that arose in a time of need for strengthening the Latino culture and spread across the world with such force that, 50 years later, is still moving the feet of dancers in the most inhospitable corners world.

At the heart of the movement is the figure of Johnny Pacheco, know as one of the great musical legacies responsible for salsa music

He won 20 gold records, 10 grammy nominations, obtaining the greatest award in his musical career.
He collaborated with over 130 artist, among them: Tito Puente, Benny More, Miles Davis, George Beson and Maynard Ferguson.

He composed over 150 hit songs like "Mi Gente" which is the most recorded and well known song around the world.

This documentary is a homage to his legacy and contributions to Salsa music around the world.
